PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain water-based ink for a ball-point pen, which is filled into a water-based ball-point pen made by directly filling ink into an ink storing tube, hardly becomes blurred during writing and has a little ink leakage. SOLUTION: The water-based ink for a ball-point pen comprises a colorant, water, an organic solvent and a water-swellable spherical polymer compound having≤30°C minimum film-forming temperature and≥1μm and≤20μm particle diameter.
