PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for realizing conversion from an interlace image signal into a progressive image signal, based on more accurate dynamic/static decision. SOLUTION: A CCD2 images an object and outputs an imaging signal, in units of fields. A camera signal processing circuit 5 generates a first image signal of interlace scanning format, containing the object image based on the imaging signal outputted from the CCD2. A signal system conversion circuit 100 performs conversion processing for converting the first image signal outputted from the camera signal processing circuit 5 to a second image signal of progressive scanning format. A motion vector detection circuit 7 detects a motion vector based on the first image signal outputted from the camera signal processing circuit 5. A blur correction arithmetic circuit 17 corrects the blurs of the object image, depending on the motion vector detected by the motion vector detection circuit 7.
