PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outdoor machine for an air conditioner, improving a flow of air in a gap between an upper part of a face on the upstream side of a heat exchanger and a flange part of a top plate to improve efficiency of heat exchange. SOLUTION: This outdoor machine has a main body 23 incorporating the heat exchanger 12 and a blower 13, and comprising a bottom plate 8, side plates 9, and the top plate 11 covering the upper face of the heat exchanger 12 and having the flange part 10. A part of the flange part 10 is formed with one or more ventilation opening parts 14 at intervals. The air passes through the gap between the upper part of the face on the upstream side of the heat exchanger 12 and the flange part 10 from the ventilation opening parts 14 formed in the part of the flange part 10, and the flow of the air above the heat exchanger 12 becomes good, so that the efficiency of the heat exchange can be improved.
