<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To render a catchlight in a pupil of an image for enhancing facial expression of an object and improving an image value. <P>SOLUTION: This catchlight synthesis method is constituted of a pupil extraction step for extracting a pupil from a correction area set on the image, an area setting step for dividing the extracted pupil into a predetermined number of ring-shaped areas according to a distance from an outline of the pupil and setting a synthesis reference point for a catchlight based on the divided ring-shaped areas, a catchlight setting step for setting the shape of the catchlight, a color conversion table selection step for selecting a color conversion table designating a color after color conversion for each of the ring-shaped areas based on the number of divisions of the ring-shaped areas, and a correction step for correcting the pupil based on the set synthesis reference point and shape of the catchlight and the selected color conversion table and outputting the pupil with the catchlight. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
