PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To share a weight mounting part of an upper turning body for both longitudinally-installed and transversely-installed counterweights. SOLUTION: In a counterweight mounting structure in a construction machine in which a transversely-installed counterweight 10 constituted by stacking a plurality of stages of weights 11-13 in the vertical direction or a longitudinally-installed counterweight constituted by stacking a plurality of stages of weights in the longitudinal direction is mounted on a rear part 4 of an upper turning body 3 mounted on a lower traveling body, a weight mounting part 8 is provided on the rear part 4 of the upper turning body 3, and a mounted part (a locking pin 14) to be mounted on the weight mounting part 8 is provided on a foundation weight 11 of the transversely-installed counterweight and a foundation weight of the longitudinally-installed counterweight.
