PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a stereospecific radical polymerization process for which commonly used polymerization facilities and conditions (temperature and polymerization initiators) are applicable and by which the control of a high tacticity is possible in free radical polymerizations most suitable for polymerizing polar vinyl monomers and an economical and commercially advantageous manufacturing process of the stereospecific polymers. SOLUTION: Highly stereospecific vinyl polymers with an isotactic or syndiotactic triad content of≥35% are manufactured by using acrylonitrile and/or methacrylonitrile as the polar vinyl monomer(s) for the major component(s) and polymerizing the monomer(s) using, as a template, the complex in which 0.1-5 mole equivalent to the monomer of a divalent Lewis basic organic compound is complexed with a Lewis acidic inorganic salt.
