PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update optional data in an archive file of an archive file type. SOLUTION: Before updating the archive file, predetermined data in the archive file is protected in accordance with an update instruction of optional block data in the archive file by an update instructing means (S1-S2), content of the predetermined data protected with content update of the optional block data in the archive file is updated (S3-S5), and the updated predetermined data is written in the archive file in which the block data with updated content is written (S6). Thereby, even when the optional block data in the archive file is directly updated, the archive file type is not damaged, and the block data in the archive file can be read.
