PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock having excellent crime preventive characteristics that can positively prevent the illegal operation of a grip member. SOLUTION: The lock 1 is constituted to advance/retreat a lock member 6 from/to a lock case 5. The lock case 5 has the grip member 3 having a grip part 31 and a rotating shaft 32, and a power transmission member 16 receiving torque of the rotating shaft 32 to operate the lock member 6. The power transmission member 16 has an insertion hole 20 with which the rotating shaft 32 can be engaged. The rotating shaft 32 has an idling part 36 idling relative to the insertion hole 20 of the power transmission member 16, and an engaging part 35 engaged with the insertion hole 20. An axial movement impeding member 75 is further provided, and while pushing the axial movement impeding member 75, the grip member 3 is pushed into the axial direction of the rotating shaft 32.
