<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain high quality treated water by stable and efficient treatment without being hindered by organic matter, in nitrogen removing treatment performing nitrification and denitrification in a single tank. <P>SOLUTION: Organic matter- and nitrogen-containing wastewater is treated in an organic matter removing process decomposing the organic matter in a nitrification suppressing condition, then treated water from the organic matter removing process is supplied to the nitrification and denitrification process. The nitrification and denitrification process is performed in a reactor 3. The reactor 3 holds biofilm formed on carrier particle surface by autotrophism denitrification microorganisms (ANAMMOX bacillus) having ammonia nitrogen as an electron donor, and nitrite nitrogen as an electron acceptor, or granules formed by autologous granulation of the denitrification microorganisms. By removing the organic matter prior to the nitrification and denitrification process, nitrification and denitrification hindrance can be prevented due to growth of BOD assimilation bacillus in the single-tank type ANAMMOX reactor 3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
