PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resonator and a filter of arbitrary bandwidth. SOLUTION: In the resonator, a corded electrode is arranged on the surface of a piezoelectricity/electrostriction substance substrate or of a piezoelectric thin film substrate, or reflectors are provided on both sides thereof. Several resonators are connected in series, the corded electrode and the reflector are provided on the piezoelectric substrate with a dielectric thin film stuck thereon, or a dielectric is attached on the surface of the surface acoustic wave resonator and further, a conductor film is stuck thereon.
