<p>A universal joint (4, 6) has an outer ring (28) that is held in a fitting hole (25) of a yoke (20, 21) and rotatably supports a trunnion (24) with needle rollers (27) in between. The outer ring (28) includes a body (281) that is fitted in the fitting hole (25) and includes a closure end (282) that is provided at one end of the body (281). The trunnion (24) has an end surface (24a) in which a ball holding hole (29, 29A) is formed. A ball reception section (31, 31A) for elastically receiving a ball (30) that is held by the ball holding halls (29, 29A) is provided in the closure end (282) of the outer ring (28). The ball reception section (31, 31A) includes either a conically tapered surface (31) or a concaved surface (31A). The curvature radius (Rb) of the concaved surface (31A) is greater than the radius (Ra) of the ball (30).</p> |
