PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side stand device for a motorcycle with a simple structure and light weight capable of setting and locking a stand body while riding on a vehicle body. SOLUTION: The side stand device for the motorcycle is provided with the stand body 1 having a ground-contact surface 22 at a lower end; a mounting bracket 3 for mounting the stand body 1 to a vehicle body side; and a pivotally supporting member 35 for turnably pivotally mounting the stand body 1 to the mounting bracket 3. A first contact surface 8 contacted with a mounting bracket side is provided on the stand body 1 and a second contact surface 3F contacted with the first contact surface 8 is provided on the mounting bracket 3. Pivotally supporting holes 10, 24 penetrated with a pivotally supporting part of the pivotally supporting member 35 are provided on the first contact surface 8 and the second contact surface 3F. Any one of the first and second contact surfaces is formed by a projection-like surface 1P and has a radial free gap at one end in an axial direction of the pivotally supporting part 37 and in a hole depth direction of the pivotally supporting holes 10, 24.
