PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupler which enables a tubular member for guiding a cleaning means such as a cleaning brush into an endoscope to be easily attached to the endoscope. SOLUTION: The coupler 100 which is attached to an operation board 5 by using flanges 171 and 172 of a cylindrical section formed on the operation board 5 of the endoscope 1 comprises a fixed member 101 and a sliding member 102. The fixed member 101 includes a first tabular member 103 and a second tabular member 104 which mutually separate in a vertical direction by the force of springs 147 and 158, and further includes tubular jointing sections 131 and 132 which can receive tubular members 139 and 140 for guiding the cleaning means such as the cleaning brush. The sliding member 102 is attached to the fixed member 101 to be slidable in a front and back direction of the coupler 100, and first and second bottom sections 113 and 114 of the fixed member 101 have thicknesses to enter into and to withdraw from clearances 167 and 168 between the operation board 5 and the flanges 171 and 172 following the slide of the fixed member 101.
