PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant composition excellent in vibration-damping property, which is useful for consumer electronics fields, office equipment fields, and information equipment fields. SOLUTION: The polyphenylene ether resin composition comprises (A) 40-85 parts by weight of a polyphenylene ether resin or this with a polystyrene resin, (B) 5-30 parts by weight of a block copolymer resin consisting of 10-35% by weight of polymer block of a styrene-based compound having a vinyl bond content of≥40% and a hydrogenated isoprene polymer block in which≥70% of residual unsaturation is hydrogenated, (C)≤0-2 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin, and (D) 5-30 parts by weight of an aromatic phosphoric ester-based flame retardant, wherein components (B) and (C) form a dispersed phase, and the dispersed particles having a mean particle diameter in the range of 0.2-3μm.
