PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which shows an excellent liquid drawing performance from a surface sheet and liquid retaining performance in the neighborhood of an absorbent point. SOLUTION: A plurality of compressed parts 7 depressed from the side of a back surface sheet and/or the side of a surface sheet are spaced out on an absorbent body 4, and compressed part 7 increases in the thickness by absorbing a liquid compared to the thickness before absorbing the liquid. The compressed part 7 is constituted of a minimal thickness part 8 and a slanting part 9, and the slanting part 9 continues to the minimal thickness part 8, with the thicknesses changing gradually.
