PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a localization method of a radio-frequency signal receiver (1) which consists of partitioning into N pieces of areas, as a function of N channels which can be utilized within a correlation stage on the surface of the earth. SOLUTION: At least one satellite can be found inside one of each region of N pieces. N number of channels in the correlation stage are switched on so as to look for the satellite within a single one of N pieces of regions. A means (3) to receive/fair the radio-frequency signal, from the satellite provides a frequency-converted intermediate signal (IF) to the correlation stage. When a certain channel has detected the satellite to be in one region within N pieces of regions, an operation of all the other channels is interrupted by a stop block. Then, the satellite near the satellite detected initially is tracked/followed, by switching on the some of the other channels. Thereby, the exacted position and the exacted period of the receiver are detected by a microprocessor means (12). If at least four satellites are followed by a direct method, the outline position is calculated, and then the exact position is pinpointed by a conventional repeating method.
