PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet loading device and a sheet loading method capable of reducing a cycle time. SOLUTION: A carrying conveyor 70 installed between a sheet holding device 32 and a loading table T is displaced between a first state in which the conveyor is extended to the upper side of the loading table T and a second state in which the conveyor is retreated from the upper side of the loading table T. The device receives a soft foam resin sheet S from the sheet holding device 32 in the first state, carries it to the loading table T side, is displaced to the second state when the end edge part S2 of the soft foam resin sheet S reaches the loading reference position P of the loading table T, and puts the soft foam resin sheet S on the loading table T.
