PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper capable of suppressing the manufacturing cost, securing the attaching strength of fastener tapes, and preventing the deterioration of the engagement of hook fasteners. SOLUTION: The attaching strength of the fastener tapes 15 can be secured by fixing release tape pieces 18 to a liquid permeable surface sheet 2 and clamping the both side ends of a back side waist part 8 of a diaper body 1 between the release tape pieces 18 and fastening tape pieces 17. Parts of the hook fasteners 14, with the fastener tapes 15 folded up, are overlapped with parts of the release tape pieces 18 joined with the liquid permeable surface sheet 2 and non-engaged with unspecific positions to prevent the deterioration of the engagement of the hook fasteners. The parts of the hook fasteners 14 which are not overlapped with the release tape pieces 18 are temporarily fixed and engaged with the liquid permeable surface sheet 2, so that the fastener tapes 15 are surely retained without projecting from the both side ends of the back side waist part 8 of the diaper body 1 without providing engagement members to the release tape pieces 18, thus suppressing the manufacturing cost.
