PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative ion generator providing a vapor and water separating effect preventing clogging of a filter member by effectively using a suction pipe motor rotating a suction pipe. SOLUTION: The negative ion generator providing the vapor and water separating effect is provided by providing the suction pipe motor 7 rotating the suction pipe 6 sucking water of a water storage tank 4 and scattering the water from a discharge opening 5 to the surroundings, a suction pipe cover 9 with a plurality of collision bodies 8 erected to surround the discharge opening 5 of the suction pipe 6, and a blow fan 10 carrying fine waterdrops including negative ions generated by collision of water to the collision bodies 8 of the suction pipe cover 9, and arranging the suction pipe motor 7 in a lower part center of a ventilation passage 13 communicating the suction pipe cover 9 with the blow fan 10 to form a vapor and water separating means 14.
