PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of printing a high-quality image by effectively removing a transfer residual toner on a photoreceptor with a cleaning blade thereby preventing filming. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with a particulate supply means 80 to deposit fine particles having 50 to 500 nm average particle size onto a photoreceptor 40 in a period after the toner is supplied to a latent image formed on the surface of the photoreceptor 40 to visualize the image until the visualized image on the surface of the photoreceptor 40 is transferred to a transfer medium and the transfer residual toner touches a cleaning blade 71.
