<p>The invention relates to a method for reducing harmful compounds in the waste gases of a burner-fired melting furnace (1). According to said method, melting charge (2) is fed into the furnace (1) and is impinged upon by heat there by means of a firing burner (4). The combustion gases that are enriched with harmful compounds from the melting charge (2) flow substantially from the firing burner (4) to the flue opening (6) in the furnace (1). High-oxygen gas is delivered to the gas mixture flowing in the melting furnace (1) in the surroundings of the flue opening (6) of the melting furnace (1) or directly from said flue opening (6), the feeding direction extending counter to the main direction of flow that prevails in the melting chamber (3) when no oxygen is supplied. The inventive method is characterized in that the quantity of melting charge (2) fed into the furnace (1) per time unit is controlled via a control device (11) by taking into account a pre-established set point value for the concentration of a waste gas component, which is determined in the flue duct (7) of the melting furnace (1).</p> |
