<p>Fitted on a vehicle's (1) front side, a multi-flow distance metering system (2) transmits a number of narrow bundles of measuring rays (21-29) to assess the distance from another vehicle (3). Distance values measured by bundles of three or more rays spaced apart are compared with each other repeatedly.</p>
