Device mounted on agricultural machines for contactless mapping of ground surface contours

A farm machine contactless contour sampling unit has a time difference laser distance sensor (LM) with sampling beam (LS) pivoting in a beam plane tilted to the ground at an acute angle in the direction of travel with processor calculating the corresponding contour position for angle, mounting height and measured distance. Independent claims are included for procedures using the equipment and processing of the measurements to define the track to be followed by the farm machine.
