The invention relates to a method of producing the N-substituted 2,6-dialkyl morpholines of general formula (I),wherein R1 and R2 independently represent hydrogen, alkyl or cycloalkyl, or R1 and R2, together with the carbon atom to which they are bound, represent a 5 to 14 membered carbocyclic compound, and R3 and R4 independently represent alkyl or cycloalkyl. The inventive substances are produced by reacting at least one carbonyl compound of general formula (II),wherein R1 and R2 are defined as above, with at least one morpholine of general formula (III),wherein R3 and R4 are defined as above, in the presence of hydrogen and at least one metal-containing catalyst, the active component of said catalyst substantially consisting of platinum group metals. |
