Disclosed is using antagonists of interaction of both VLA-4 and alpha4 beta 7 with their respective alpha-4 ligands for the treatment fibrosis in a human or animal subject. The use comprises administering to the subject an effective amount of an antagonist to VLA-4 integrin or fragment thereof.
