<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely remove or reduce image noise around a high-frequency component when performing volume rendering from voxel data and displaying a three-dimensional image, surely secure information on an observationally important portion, being independent from clipping and improve a real time property. <P>SOLUTION: When a ray extending from each of a plurality of pixels on a projection plane is set based on a sight line from the projection plane of the volume rendering, the image processing device specifies one dimensional data of the voxel data positioned on the ray (steps S1-S4). The device computes change information, as a spatial change of the voxel value of the one-dimensional data becomes larger, showing a large absolute value (steps S5-S6), computes a weighting factor according to the change information (a step S7), and weightedly adds the voxel data and the data of smoothing images of the voxel data mutually using the weighting factor (steps S8-S10). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
