<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To independently and stably identify each object on an image in which a plurality of objects are close to each other or partially overlapped. <P>SOLUTION: An object position area 82a is calculated based on a detected spatial position of a truck 70. A template 80a corresponding to the object position area 82a recorded at a previous time is called. The template 80a is moved to a position where the similarity is maximized on a reference image Ib. The overlapping ratio of the object position area 82a with the moved template 80a (product set of R<SB>(t-1)</SB>and R<SB>t</SB>) is calculated.
