<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reversible heat sensitive recording medium which is good in coloring and color erasing sensitivity and excellent also in heat resisting shelf life. <P>SOLUTION: In the reversible heat sensitive recording medium having a reversible heat sensitive recording layer comprising an electron donative color developing compound and an electron receptive compound on a base material, as the electron receptive compound a phenol compound represented by formula (1) is used.
