<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensorless motor driver capable of making software sense whether the position estimation error of a rotor occurs or not without using a sensor to prevent a malfunction due to a position estimation error of the motor driver and damage of the device equipped with the motor, and to provide its protective control method. <P>SOLUTION: This sensorless motor driver comprises a rectifying section 20 for rectifying an AC power source 10 to be applied into a DC voltage; an inverter 40 for converting the rectified DC voltage into a three-phase AC voltage; a current sensor 50 for sensing a current applied from the inverter 40 to the motor 70; a control unit 60 which estimates the rotational speed of the motor 70 and the position of the rotor by the voltage and the current applied to the motor 70, and controls the motor 70 by outputting a control signal to the inverter 40; and a position estimation error sensor 80 for sensing whether the estimation error occurs or not in the position estimation of the motor 70 using the sensed current value and the estimated positional angle of the rotor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
