<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for utilizing an IC tag attached to a machine component for the discrimination of the machine component in an assembling process, for example, for the discrimination of front/rear sides, the discrimination of a horizontal attachment position, the selection of thickness, matching, manufacturing of many kinds of articles in the same line or the like in addition to identification and manufacturing history management. <P>SOLUTION: A non-contact communicating IC tag 6 is attached to a seal 5 having front and rear sides made distinct from each other so that there is a difference between a communication state of communication from the front side and that from the rear side. The front or rear side of the seal 6 is determined by communicating with the IC tag 6.
