PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent transitional picture quality deterioration at the time of increasing a gain. SOLUTION: This imaging device 100 performs predetermined arithmetic processing based on an image signal to be outputted from a PGA 16, and determines the gain set value of the PGA 16 based on the arithmetic result, and controls an amplifying means according to the determined gain set value. Also, the imaging device compares the gain set value with a predetermined gain set value, and controls the recording processing of an image signal to a recording means according to the comparison result.
