PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method or the like of a tape processor which can set a position of an embossing region in a width direction of a processing tape. SOLUTION: The control method of the tape processor 1 which embosses braille dots to one side in the width direction of the processing tape T by an embossing means 80 faced to one side in the width direction of the processing tape T includes an embossing position setting process of setting an embossing position of the braille dots in the tape width direction, an embossing data forming process of forming embossing data on the basis of input information and the embossing position, and a braille embossing process of embossing the braille dots to the processing tape T on the basis of the formed embossing data. The embossing data forming process forms the embossing data to carry out normal direction embossing if the embossing position is brought to one side in the width direction on the same side as the embossing means 80, and forms the embossing data to carry out opposite direction embossing if the embossing position is brought to one side in the width direction on the opposite side to the embossing means 80.
