PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent malfunction by extracting the detailed features specific to the operating environment and to perform the function control adapted to the various usage environments. SOLUTION: The apparatus is equipped with an acceleration sensor 2, a memory means 33, a feature extraction means 31, and an environment judgment means 32. The memory means 33 memorizes the information on the pattern columns corresponding to the G value of the acceleration sensor 2 assumed under the usage environment for every operating environment. When the feature extraction means 31 determines the time shift features of the time serial data of the G value, the environment judgment means 32 specifies the environment pattern column of the most approximate feature and judges that operating environment as the present operating environment. Further, the apparatus is equipped with a function control means to control the function of recording or reproducing of the information to the state suitable for the judged present usage environment.
