<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight assembly in order to improve impact-resistance, and a liquid crystal display device having this. <P>SOLUTION: The backlight assembly includes a housing container which is composed of the bottom part and the side part, and which forms a housing space, a flat plate fluorescent lamp which is housed in the housing container and which generates light, and a support member having an impact absorbing part in order to absorb the impact given to the flat plate fluorescent lamp by supporting the flat plate fluorescent lamp arranged between the housing container and the flat plate fluorescent lamp. Here, the shock absorbing part is composed of a projection which protrudes from the surface of the support member. Therefore, the impact-resistance is improved by absorbing the impact given to the flat plate fluorescent lamp, and breakage of the flat plate fluorescent lamp can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
