摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas spring reducing impact force when a press machine abuts to the gas spring. SOLUTION: The gas spring is provided with a casing forming a main gas chamber. A piston rod assembly is housed within the casing and is moveable between extended and retracted positions. A retainer is housed within the casing. The retainer forms an auxiliary gas chamber between the casing and the retainer by a part of it spacing apart from the casing. The auxiliary gas chamber is sealed from the main gas chamber when the piston rod assembly is in the extended position. The piston rod assembly is provided with a piston head with enlarging width which is housed within the casing and a generally annular sleeve which is extended in axial direction from the piston head. The gas spring is provided with at least one gas port between both ends of the sleeve.
