PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide self-propagating reactive multilayer foil useful in joining, ignition and propulsion. SOLUTION: The self-propagating reactive multilayer foil is constituted of a laminated body formed by deforming and laminating alternating layers selected from materials that will react with one another in an exothermic reaction, wherein the laminated body is deformed into a sheet by pressure and the alternating layers are laminated by cold pressing.
