The engine has a pressure pipe (8) via which fuel e.g. vegetable oil, is supplied to the engine from a fuel injection pump, and an outlet port. A temperature sensor (5) is provided in an exhaust manifold. The pipe is coupled to a controller (3) that controls the injected fuel quantity such that an exhaust gas temperature at the outlet port does not directly exceed 450 degree Celsius in 50 percentages of the operation hours. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a diesel motorized internal combustion engine.
