<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a near field optical head which is small in size, has a high optical efficiency, is adaptable to a high recording density and has a simple structure suitable for mass production. <P>SOLUTION: The near field optical head has a mirror substrate 201 consisting of Si and the mirror substrate 201 has a mirror surface 204 formed by crystal anisotropic etching. The mirror substrate 201 has a V-shaped groove 203 for fixing an optical fiber 103. The V-shaped groove 203 is formed to be inclined by about 20° from the surface of the mirror substrate 201 and light 211 emitted from the optical fiber 103 is reflected by the mirror surface 204 and bent in a perpendicular direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
