PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To orovide a camera surely performing necessary camera operations when a controller is in a sleep state and a film is manually rewound. SOLUTION: The camera is provided with: rewinding operation members 2 and 3 for manually rewinding the film FI; a rotating member 4 rotated at least interlocked with the traveling of the film by rewinding; a detecting device 11 electrically detecting the rotation of the rotating member 4 as a film traveling state; a controller controlling the detecting device 11 and also performing the action (e.g. film rewinding display) according to the result of detection by the detecting device 11; a switch 8 operated to generate a starting signal for starting the controller in a dormant state; and switch operation mechanisms 6, 7 and 7a operating the switch 8 interlocked with the rotation of the rotating member 4.
