PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet folding device having a simple configuration and capable of improving folding position precision of a sheet material without increasing size of the configuration. SOLUTION: This sheet folding device 100 for conveying the sheet material carried in from a carry-in port 101 through conveyance passages 26, 27, 28 and delivering it from a delivery port 102 by folding it by a folding means 40 during conveyance is provided with a fold providing means 32 for providing a folding position with a fold in advance by the folding means at an upstream side position of the folding means in the direction K of sheet conveyance. The fold providing means is constituted by a fold providing rotary body 50 having a fold providing projection 52 in the direction of rotary axis and arranging the rotary axis in the direction crossing the direction of sheet conveyance orthogonally and a receiving member 51 arranged on the opposite side across a sheet conveyance passage for the fold providing rotary body and nipping the sheet material between the fold providing projection and it to provide the sheet material with a fold. For example, both of the fold providing rotary body and the receiving member have roller shapes, and the whole peripheral face of the receiving member is formed by an elastic material.
