The current generation unit has a replacable or re-fillable fuel tank (12), a rotary piston machine (14) and a current generator (16) driven by the output shaft (20) of the rotary piston machine. The latter has an oval cross-section rotary piston contained within a combustion chamber housing from which the output shaft projects, the rotary piston having an oval bore containing a hollow wheel cooperating with a drive spline for the output shaft. The current generator and the rotary piston machine are provided as a miniaturized unit with a volume which is several times less than that of the fuel tank. |
