The present publication discloses a system and a method for handling a storage. The method comprises the steps of allocating a place to a number of objects (40) in said storage, maintaining information about vacant space (41) in said storage, identifying a size of said objects (40) along at least one dimension (B1,B2,B3), maintaining storing information about a size of vacant continuous space (41) in said storage along at least one dimension (B1,B2,B3), and allocating said place to said objects (40) based on an allocating function in which said size along said at least one dimension (B1,B2,B3) which is intended to be identified constitutes a first variable and the storing information about the size of the vacant continuous space (41) in said storage along said at least one dimension (B1,B2,B3) constitutes a second variable. |
