PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat pump type air conditioner capable of suppressing discomfort to a user during reverse cycle defrosting operation. SOLUTION: Almost the defrost heat of an air heat changer 22 is obtained from a water heat exchanger 21. Since a refrigerant is never carried to an indoor heat exchanger 41, or it is a small amount even if carried, an inconvenient situation such that this causes generation of noise in a living room or descending of cold air from the cooled indoor heat exchanger 41 is restrained.
