PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an onboard antenna, a mounting method of the same, and a monitoring unit, which mounting inside a vehicle room to a possible extent, neither damaging the appearance nor increasing the number of components, and improving an antenna characteristic. SOLUTION: On a front face portion 6a of a metal frame 6 disposed in such a way as to surround the periphery of an LCD monitor 5, an inverse-L shaped radial element 13 is integrally formed in a predetermined position covered with an escutcheon 2, in the state in which the escutcheon 2 is normally framed on the metal frame 6.
