PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image pickup device which can have an intermediate optical system switched while holding an in-focus state, by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: An optical system 12 has a conversion lens 18 being the intermediate optical system which is switchably provided on an optical axis. A motor 30 is a driving source and generates a driving force. A lens driving mechanism 22 is an intermediate optical system driving mechanism and transmits the driving force generated by the driving source to the conversion lens 18 to drive the conversion lens 18 so that the conversion lens 18 is switched between an inserted state and a retreating state. An imaging device driving mechanism 24 transmits the driving force generated by the driving source to an imaging device 14 to drive the imaging device 14 in the direction of the optical axis. The imaging device driving mechanism 24 is a cam mechanism. The intermediate optical system being a switching object can be a filter. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
