PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laundry dryer for allowing soft finish of laundry without increasing supply pressure of hot air across a fan. SOLUTION: The upper part of a drying chamber 2 of a dryer 1 is fitted with a swinging rod 8, and the outside of the back of the drying chamber 2 has a circulation passage 13 communicating between the upper and lower parts of the drying chamber 2. The lower side of the circulation passage 13 communicates with the lower part of the drying chamber 2 through an upper forward passage 14, an intermediate return passage 15, and a lower forward passage 16. An air cooling portion 14B is laid out with coolers 11 and 12, and an air heating portion 16B with a heater 9. An air outlet portion 16C is laid out with a suction portion 20A of the fan 20 facing and communicating with the lower part of the drying chamber 2.
