<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side cap and a ball screw capable of improving high speed operation performance and durability. <P>SOLUTION: The side cap 17 is formed of two ball circulation member components 23 and 23 divided along a parting line PL extending in the advancing direction of balls 15 passed through the inside thereof. The side cap 17 comprises a ball pick-up part 24 picking up the balls 15 in a ball route 8 from one side and a ball circulation passage 27 returning the balls 15 picked up by the ball pick-up part 24 into the ball route 8 from the other side which are formed integrally with each other. Cutouts 25 are formed at a pick-up base end 24a where the integrated ball pick-up part 24 and the ball circulation passage 27 are joined to each other.
