PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal input device, having the function of accurately predicting that a leakage failure will occur in a two- or three-wired sensor to be connected, such as a proximity sensor or a photoelectric sensor, as a result of, infiltration of a coolant, prior to the occurrence of leakage failures. SOLUTION: The signal input device includes a leakage information generating means for generating information corresponding to the degree of leakage of the two-wired sensor to be connected, based on current measurement conducted by a current-measuring means and a preset current value when the output state of a discrimination binarization circuit is in a state where current is off; and a leakage information output means for outputting to the outside the information corresponding to the degree of leakage that has been generated by the leakage information generating means.
