PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-based filter suitable and extremely efficient to be used for various purposes such as display techniques, a diagnosis system, an optical device, a photographic material and other lighting system and so on so as to weaken or enhance a specified type of electromagnetic radiation. SOLUTION: The device contains at least one organophosphonium transition metal dye or contains a filter or a filter layer containing at least one kind of organophosphonium transition metal dye.
