A power supply apparatus, which comprises a master circuit and a slave circuit that are connected in parallel with each other, outputs, as a power supply current, a current obtained by adding a current outputted by the master circuit and a current outputted by the slave circuit. The master circuit includes a main circuit side output part for outputting a current in accordance with a voltage applied thereto, a main circuit side reference power supply for generating a reference voltage in accordance with the power supply voltage to be outputted by the power supply apparatus, and a main circuit side control part for supplying a voltage in accordance with the reference voltage to the main circuit side output part to control the current to be outputted thereby. The slave circuit includes a subsidiary circuit side output part that has substantially the same characteristic as the main circuit side output part and that receives the voltage based on the current outputted by the main circuit side output part to output a current in accordance with the received voltage.
